Ltd., Ube Material Industrias, Ltd., y Yokogawa Electric Corporation / Corporación Eléctrica Yokogawa anuncian por la presente la firma de un memorando de entendimiento (MdE) sobre un estudio conjunto de actividades para el establecimiento de un complejo industrial neutro en carbono en el distrito de Goi de la ciudad de Ichihara y en el distrito de Soga de la ciudad de Chiba, en la prefectura japonesa de Chiba (en lo sucesivo, el "complejo neutro en carbono de Goi y Soga").

Los distritos de Goi y Soga forman parte del complejo industrial Keiyo Rinkai de Chiba, una prefectura adyacente a Tokio que alberga la mayor concentración de empresas de materiales y energía de Japón. El logro de la neutralidad de carbono en este complejo industrial mejorará la competitividad global de las empresas que mantienen allí sus operaciones y marcará el camino hacia una sociedad sostenible.

Desde febrero de 2021, Yokogawa ha emprendido un proyecto* para examinar la viabilidad de alcanzar la neutralidad de carbono mediante la colaboración interindustrial en el complejo industrial de Goi. Las otras nueve empresas que operan allí se han unido a Yokogawa en esta empresa, y Yokogawa también ha implicado a sus filiales Yokogawa Solution Service Corporation y KBC Advanced Technologies Limited. A través de este estudio, se ha establecido que la colaboración interindustrial sería más eficaz que las empresas que trabajan por su cuenta en la reducción de las emisiones de CO2, y que el CO2 recuperado puede ser utilizado eficazmente por las empresas ubicadas dentro de este complejo industrial.

Sobre la base del MoU, Yokogawa y estas nueve empresas que operan en los sectores energético, petroquímico, químico, siderúrgico, de materiales y otras industrias estudiarán la viabilidad de la comercialización para el año 2030 de las actividades necesarias para que el complejo industrial de Goi y Soga sea neutro en carbono en 2050.   1. Introducción de un sistema interindustrial de gestión de la energía para minimizar las emisiones de CO2
  2. Recuperación y utilización eficaz del CO2 mediante la colaboración interindustrial
  3. Reducción de las emisiones de CO2 mediante la colaboración interindustrial en la utilización del hidrógeno y otros subproductos gaseosos de los procesos existentes.

Mediante esta cooperación entre empresas que persiguen operaciones sostenibles y un proveedor de sistemas avanzados de control y gestión energética para procesos industriales, las empresas participantes pretenden alcanzar colectivamente la neutralidad de carbono en el complejo industrial de Goi y Soga y reducir así su impacto ambiental, al tiempo que mejoran su propia competitividad internacional.
